Other areas (in Kenya) in which we look forward to establishing churches are Kitale, Cwele, Pokot, Turkana, and Kailuke. In addition, we are currently planning to plant and expand churches in these two areas where land for a church has already been secured:
Kachiri, Uganda
King of Kings already owns land there which has been set aside to build a church.
Riwo, Uganda
King of Kings owns 2 hectares of land on the slopes of the prayer mountain in Riwo.
Riwo is a place which had been without people for the last 60 years due to the raiding by the Pokot and Karamajong. The place was deserted. However, in 2002 the Lord spoke to us and made it clear that he wanted to restore the land, so we went there in obedience to the Lord’s command. When we went the first time, there were no roads and the place was deep bush. The Lord had taken us there to speak to the land, mountains, hills and valleys according to Ezekiel 36:1.
The second time we went with a team and prayed for the soldiers operating the area, many of whom were being killed by raiders. Gunshots could be heard everywhere. We camped there for one week, praying and fasting on the mountain.
In obedience to the Lord, we got money and bought the land for the Ministry in Riwo (same time as there were constant killings by raiders). However, after prayer and fasting, the death toll dropped significantly, to His Glory.
The third time we went with a team for 3 days of dry fasting. We camped on top of the mountain without a tent. We were rained on, slept on stones in the bush, and plagued by scorpions. But God is faithful, and on that Sunday we held a service and people came from all over - Soldiers and civilians. As people repented for the years of bloodshed, God manifested his power and performed many miracles, with many people being instantly healed.
After those prayers God restored the land. People began to return and resettle, and there are now about 5,000 people in what had for decades been a desolate and deserted place.
In April 2008 we went back to re-visit the land and the mountain. People were blessed with blankets, soap, toothpaste, mosquito nets, 5,000 Bibles, and more as we visited the District IDP Camps (Internally Displaced Persons Camps).
The people in Riwo are now praying in the open on the slope of the prayer mountain as there is lack of shelter. There is little food and much widespread poverty, but still people are calling on us to put a church there as they are even more hungry and thirsty for the Word of God.
Riwo is a very rich, fertile land and good for farming, but the people need help, both spiritual and practical to rebuild what the Enemy has stolen. |
